About me

I am a PhD student in Applied Mathematics currently working at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT). I am part of the research groups Collaborative Research Center (CRC) 1173, funded by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG), and Computational Science and Mathematical Methods (CSMM). My work is focused on developing computationally efficient numerical algorithms that capture varying behaviours of the thermal radiative transfer. Additionally, I also focus on developing new methods for quantifying uncertainties in these systems based on exploiting underlying structures. I am committed to the idea of making scientific knowledge available to the public and one can find a selection of my publications, talks and software below.

News

SIAM CSE 2025, Fort Worth

March 03–07, 2025 — SIAM CSE 2025, USA

I had the opportunity to attend and speak at SIAM CSE 2025 in Fort Worth, Texas — a fantastic gathering of experts in computational science and engineering. I presented "On Asymptotic-Preserving Dynamical Low-Rank Approximation for Thermal Radiative Transfer" and connected with many inspiring researchers pushing the boundaries of CSE.

SciCADE 2024, Singapore

July 15–19, 2024 — SciCADE 2024, Singapore

I travelled to Singapore to give a talk at SciCADE 2024. I presented "A multi-scale low-rank integrator for Marshak waves" — a great experience to learn about recent advances in differential equations and scientific computing.

ICOSAHOM, Montreal

2025 — ICOSAHOM, Montreal, Canada

I attended ICOSAHOM (International Conference on Spectral and High Order Methods) in Montreal, Canada. A great opportunity to present my work and discuss the latest developments in spectral and high-order numerical methods with the community.

ENUMATH, Heidelberg

2025 — ENUMATH, Heidelberg, Germany

I attended ENUMATH (European Conference on Numerical Mathematics and Advanced Applications) in Heidelberg, Germany — a leading European forum for numerical analysis and scientific computing, bringing together researchers from across the continent.

Mountaineering

When not doing mathematics, I spend my time in the mountains. The Alps provide an endless playground for climbing, ski touring, and hiking — a welcome counterbalance to life at a desk. I document my trips on the adventures page.

Westweg — Black Forest End-to-End

Westweg — Black Forest End-to-End

The Westweg is a 285 km long-distance trail running the full length of the Black Forest, from Pforzheim in the north to Basel in the south.
